A Big Bear wandered into Castle Hill
Nov 06: Our 20 foot container which finally left the Bear/Jennings factory in Gainesville, Florida USA via Savannah, Panama Canal and Auckland, has arrived in Sydney-this is the first time we have brought in almost a whole container of bows. (If you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox as your browser, hover your cursor over each image to read the photo captions)Our container is full of 687 Bear Archery and Jennings Archery compound & youth compound bows. We now have a very wide range of compound bow models to suit all archers, in poundages and draw lengths and at a variety of price points.
We also received 4,380 of the extremely popular Satellite carbon arrow shafts in Silver, Gold & Platinum and also Bear archery accessories. The enormous success of Satellite shafts has been on the back of our sustained national advertising campaign in two archery specific magazines and the strong acceptance by the bowhunting fraternity and ongoing promotion by our dealers. We thank everyone for their great support of Satellite shafts.
To gain an appreciation of how 680 bows can fit in a container-literally packed to the container door, we took some photos of our empty pallet racking just prior to unloading and a few along the way.
There was no let up the next day as we received our shipment of Bjorn target and field faces 2.5 tonnes or 24,000 faces. Our Bjorn shipment had a long trip to Australia, having been off-loaded in Singapore and spending 8 days waiting for another vessel to Sydney. We have large stocks of target faces in 122cm, 80cm, 80cm centre, 60cm, 40cm, 3 spot vertical 60cm and 40cm and field faces in 80cm, 60cm, 40cm and 20cm.
