When it comes to professionals using wrist strap releases, Michael Braden stands out as one of their most decorated index finger release shooters who has shot with a Carter release for most of his impressive career.
This collaboration led Carter's design genius, Jerry Carter to use Michael's experience to collectively create the perfect index finger release, the Like Mike. Since the inception and success of the Like Mike, a new innovation has come out between Carter & Michael Braden, the Like Mike II.
With some distinct changes from the original, this release is even closer to perfection.
It features an ultra reliable, double sear interior mechanism for increased accuracy, reliability and repeatability, while maintaining the least amount of trigger travel of any release Carter has ever made. Gone are the days of needing to adjust your release to eliminate trigger travel. The Like Mike II has no need for it, only tension. The internals of the release take care of this automatically with no trigger travel no matter the trigger tension.
The trigger also has minimal "over travel" to eliminate any "spongy" feeling when fired, leaving you with a perfectly "crisp" feel and instant response. The trigger has a 0-3.5lb adjustment range with the simple turn of a screw so you can tailor the trigger to the exact feel you prefer. The release can have the tension set even higher by simply inserting the steel ball supplied with the release to increase the tension as high as 11 pounds.
It also features the popular open jaw design that loads quickly and silently on a D-Loop for fast clean shots that give no excessive wear to the loop.

Every Carter release has a CNC machined housing made from 6061 T6 aluminium.
It is vibratory deburred and anodised for a very attractive, yet durable finish.
The internal pieces of the release are CNC machined from 1018 cold roll steel. They are case hardened to 50 Rockwell C, electro nickel plated, then hardened a final time to reduce wear.
Each release is hand assembled and tested before it leaves the Carter factory.
