TREESTANDS-GROUND BLINDS
Treestand and Ground Blinds were very slow to take off in Australia and New Zealand mainly because bowhunters were more accustomed to stalking than staking out a specific area for game to wander along.
However with the upsurge in hunting success by utilising tree stands and ground blinds in the South Pacific, we have noticed hunters are using still hunting methods more and more to target their quarry.
Treestands are extremely useful as they give a hunter a higher vantage point, enabling better shooting lanes in dense cover.
Also using a Treestand reduces scenting up an area as the hunter is off the ground, which allows the human scent to travel upwards, rather than across the ground alerting game.
Ground Blinds are quite portable, so you can set your blind up in no time and be concealed to see the game that is available in the area.
Modern Ground Blinds are very light weight and fairly compact so getting them transported to your favourite spot is quite easy.
When sitting in a Ground Blind, all movement by a hunter is concealed so less game is spooked. Ground Blinds can also protect the hunter from the harsh elements of rain or provides shade from the sun in the heat of Summer.
Still hunting with ground blinds whilst set up around water sources is proving to be very successful in targeting deer, pigs and goats.
Patience can be a virtue and although stalking around is more popular, it's hard to argue with the success of sitting still and patient and letting the game come to you. Try still hunting with one of our tested Treestands or Ground Blinds and get ready for that shot of a lifetime.
Ground Blinds are quite portable so you can set your blind up in no time and be concealed to see the game that is available in the area. Blinds are also used by wildlife photographers who like to be concealed while viewing wildlife in their natural habitat.
