Port Orford Cedar is arguably the best arrow shafting wood available and is sourced from a very small area in the north west of the USA. These Premium spined wood shafts from Rose City Archery are full length and are 762mm or 30 inches long, of a very high grade, beautifully textured, long lasting and very strong.
Premium Port Orford Cedar shafts - the traditional bowhunters choice, are perfect for making wood arrows. Port Orford Cedar or POC is used for arrows because of the strength, straight grain, elasticity and perfect physical weight to spine weight ratio. The beautiful aroma from these shafts is an added bonus!
These shafts are easily stained and the result is most attractive. Ideal for hunting, target, field and clout as well as for re-enactment and medieval enthusiasts.
Some sizes are scarce and we only received 1,000 shafts, while with other sizes, there are larger quantities. Generally in the past, when these Premium Grade shafts were received, they sold quickly, so it is first in, best dressed. These shafts are available online or at our Castle Hill, Sydney and Sumner Park, Brisbane stores.
Heavier spined shafts are rare, due to local Australian woods being dried prematurely and not being able to attain the heavier spine weights. These heavier shafts are quite popular with traditional archers and will more than likely move fast.
