Instinctive Shooting Volume 1, a great read and valuable archery tips
Book Instinctive Shooting Description
G. Fred Asbell started bowhunting in the early 1960's. Then in the late 1980's, to answer a growing need in the traditional archery community, he wrote this book, Instinctive Shooting Volume 1 and it's still going strong!
Well written, well illustrated and full of traditional archery basics, this book will take you, step by step, through the ancient art of shooting a bow and arrow by instinct, ie. without sights.
There are few other authors in the fields of archery and hunting who can teach as well as Asbell. Some Japanese texts on the art of archery, which in Japanese form is instinctive, is considered the oldest martial art.
Asbell strikes upon many of the same points examined in these Asian works and this indicates just how deeply Asbell grasps the key concepts. Fortunately for us, he writes in a distinctly Western tradition and hence his book is straight forward and a great read. He has a wealth of knowledge.
This book by G. Fred Asbell has excellent information for the novice or pro archer on topics ranging from instinctive shooting to the secrets of stalking game successfully.
